A Canadian in Poland!

I am a university student from Victoria B.C, Canada and I study History and Linguistics. I have wanted to teach English as a foreign language for some time now and I am very excited to make that dream come true in Poland. I have just completed a study abroad semester at the University of Leeds in England and I loved every second of it.
I was raised in a small town called Maple Ridge (like the syrup) near beautiful forests, mountains, and lakes. I grew up eating moose, bear, and deer meat and I spent many days out in the wilderness. I love being from Canada and life on Vancouver Island is peaceful, free, and relaxing. In between my classes, it is normal for me to walk to the beach with my friends and enjoy the ocean. I also love to go out dancing and I love to cook new meals (hopefully some pierogies!) I feel a bit at home in Grodizsk Mazowiecki due to the gorgeous surrounding nature. I want to connect with the locals in the neighborhood and share our cultural differences and similarities through an English teaching experience. After only two days, I can already feel that my experience as a linguistics student, and as a young woman travelling through Europe, is being tremendously enriched.
