An Indian adventure

In February 2020 I visited India for 1 month to attend my friend’s traditional Indian wedding, to sightsee, and to search for products for my home decor shop. I spent time in two big cities, Amritsar and Delhi.

Amritsar

This city is in the northwestern state of Punjab, home of the Sikh religion, and close to the border with Pakistan. Below are some pictures of what I saw here!

The Wagah border – India and Pakistan ceremoniously lower their flags every day with the aim of fostering cooperation and brotherhood between the two nations.
Punjabi water feature
Beautiful Indian furniture
Indian rugs and tapestry
Indian Marble
The Golden Temple – Even the holiest gurdwara of the Sikh religion has its technological problems!
The Turban Museum in Gobindgarh Fort, Punjab

New Delhi – The capital of India

Preparing for marriage – Turmeric ceremony – rubbing turmeric on the body will guarantee that no omen will harm the groom and bride before the big day. The turmeric will cleanse the body of the couple entering into holy matrimony. It also marks the beginning of a new life together

Menhadee(Henna) – The Menhadee paste symbolizes good health and prosperity in marriage, and in some cultures, the darker the henna stain, the deeper the love between two individuals

India is an amazing place. It has a vast range of cultures across the country so I will definitely have to visit again to experience it all! I highly recommend going, as you will taste the best food, see amazing things and meet the kindest people.
