My Last Days Home…Africa

I had been pretty anxious about coming here, by here I mean Poland. If I am being honest I was not completely honest I was even going to make it as I had a few complications during my VISA process but by God’s grace.

Before arriving in South Africa however, I was living in Zimbabwe in the last week of my being in Zimbabwe my family planned a day trip to a bird sanctuary to a place called Kuimbashiri”. We had lunch there by the lake before enjoying a boat cruise that lasted about an hour. The scenes were beautiful with the sun beaming on us as it set over the blue water that served as its mirror. One thing I will always appreciate about home is its effortless beauty.

The picture above is of myself on the boat, the picture was taken by a cousin of mine.

The airplane ride to Johannesburg, South Africa was not a long one in fact it was just one and a half hours. We were arriving to stay with my aunt and her two daughters. Upon arrival, I desperately wanted a hug as I had not seen her in over three years but due to all the traveling and where we had been, I thought it would be better to just shower and then hug as long as we wanted after.

We caught each other up and what we had missed in each other’s lives and went to bed. We had most nights like this where we talked as a family when no one was busy with work and school. We even developed a roster for who would cook dinner, each person had their own day. I always took pictures of the meals I would cook, here are just a few…

When I found out I was going to finally leave South Africa I made the most of it. I had a friend who happened to have a birthday celebration, and over here in this country, it was common to have it end up in a club. Other than that it was common club culture to buy lots of bottles of champagne. He celebrated over two weekends and each night I was there, the night was filled with nothing but laughter, smiles, singing along to songs, and popping LOTSSSS of bottles.

My cousins and I then went out to this restaurant called Doppio Zero and we had food and drinks there, some Jaagerbombs and the best chicken I have ever tasted!

On the last weekend I went to stay with my other family members, my uncle and aunt and their two daughters it was a lovely time as family time always is. I think it is one thing we all need to keep ourselves sane just a good old chat with loved ones and some laughter. That weekend there was a whole lot of laughter I must stay it is like it put my heart at peace being with them I went home the next day with nothing but tranquility in my heart. We started off the afternoon with lunch then decided on watching a movie as well as doing some shopping in the evening. We watched Godzilla Vs. King Kong and went home, the next morning we sat at the table which was completely covered in food, every breakfast thing you can think of was there!

Well that is about it…if you are still here reading this then thank you for your time!
